I got to spend the day with Madeline on one of the best school field trips! In the 4th grade, they get to go to Connersville and ride the train to Metamora. It was hot outside, but a beautiful day!

The train ride was incredible. It was so peaceful and the nature was beautiful! We saw waterfalls, a river and fresh green trees and grass. It seems as though we don't have grass at our house when I say that, but it really was just so beautiful! I loved every minute of it! Madee did too.

We arrived in Metamora and got to tour the old Mill house. It was very interesting and in proper running condition. The kids saw them making corn into grits, and corn meal. We even got a handful of meal to taste. Madee was like hey it tastes like corn! uh, no kidding!? hahaha

We also got to take a canal ride. It was pretty interesting to be pulled along by horses! We went through a covered bridge and came back. It was a short ride but we learned alot. It is hard to believe that those canal systems were dug almost 200 years ago before there were trains!

After all this, we got to shop around for about a half an hour. We headed straight for the ice cream parlor as like I said, it was 87 degrees and full sun! We both had chocolate cones and slept on the bus ride home!
